Diesel pushing $5 per gallon in California

The Visalia Times-Delta is reporting diesel fuel at $4.88 per gallon in Tulare County, California. In Wisconsin, the average price per gallon is $4.53. Here in South Arkansas, fuel at the Diamond Shamrock truck stop in Wilmer was at $4.30 per gallon as of yesterday.

As oil reaches $127 a barrel, with some economists predicting up to $200 per barrel by 2009, look for everything from groceries to socks going up in price as the cost of transportation continues to rise. I look for more carriers such as Jevic to park their trucks, like so many owner/operators have done since the beginning of the year.
