Trucking firm Schneider National caps drivers’ speed at 60 mph to save fuel

MILWAUKEE - One of the nation’s largest trucking companies is capping its drivers’ speeds at 60 mph, a move designed to save fuel and protect the environment.

Schneider National Inc. expects the change to save the company nearly 3.8 million gallons of diesel fuel a year. It also will reduce carbon dioxide emissions by more than 40,000 tons, according to the Green Bay-based company. From the Star Tribune

This is all the buzz on WLW’s America’s Trucking Network with Bubba Bo tonight. Also, Con-way Truckload reduced the maximum speed for their trucks form 70 mph to 65 mph.
