Diesel for Crack Cocaine
Jackson County, FL – Three people are behind bars, accused of stealing diesel fuel to trade for crack cocaine.
The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office says it happened around 11:00 p.m. Saturday.
A deputy spotted a tractor trailer and a pickup truck on Sills Road, just north of Highway 2 in Campbellton.
Two men were apparently siphoning diesel fuel from the tractor into gas cans.
When the deputy approached, the men said they were trying to help another vehicle, but investigators say the men were taking the fuel to trade for crack cocaine.
Kelvis Britt, 26, of Campbellton and Larry Ward, 50, of Graceville are charged with dealing in stolen property and theft.
The driver of the tractor trailer, Mary Weeks, 43, of Slocomb, Alabama, is also facing those charges.
All three were booked into the Jackson County Jail. More from WMBB
Not much more can be said here - glad law enforcement came upon the scene. They took out the drug dealers and stopped a trucker from potentially driving under the influence of cocaine.
